When the Stage Gets Bigger, So Does the Pressure

This year’s Wimbledon tournament reminded us that even the best can break.
Top-seeded Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula were knocked out in the first round—proof that titles and talent aren’t enough when the pressure hits. Gauff entered as the reigning French Open champion. But each stage is different, each challenge is new, and past success doesn’t automatically translate into the next trophy. Now they both need to wait another year for another opportunity to win.
It’s no different in business.
We have coached enough C-suite leaders to know this is very true. Pressure will always expose cracks and weaknesses. Even the most seasoned executives can get caught flat-footed—especially in the biggest moments. However, the best of the best know how important it is to BE ready so you don’t have to GET ready.
At ON Point, we coach leaders and teams to perform when it counts. Not just to survive pressure—but to use it as fuel to achieve their peak performance. Because in the biggest moments, it’s not about headlines or hype—it’s about who’s ready to optimize the opportunity and win the championship.
